About Skukura

Many of us embark on a family building journey and do not anticipate challenges. This new and unexpected life stage can lead to feelings of anger, frustration, confusion, and more. The roller coaster of hope and despair during multiple fertility treatment cycles can also feel overwhelming and isolating. You may even find yourself dedicating all of your free time to fertility-related tasks and conversations, which can result in burnout. If your experience with treatment has become all-consuming, I’m here to offer you support.

In our work together, we’ll focus on restoring balance in your life while you move forward. Some of the ways we can work together include: processing your reproductive story, managing your stress and anxiety, improving your relationships, coping with the holidays and/or addressing any moral/religious inner conflicts. My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. So we’ll collaborate together about your specific goals and needs. I’ll walk on this path of uncertainty with you.

I have experience working at a fertility clinic with individuals and couples pursuing IUI, IVF, egg freezing and embryo freezing treatment. So I understand the different treatment plans and how embarking on a fertility journey can impact your mental health and relationships. Some of these impacts may include: anxiety, depression, guilt, shame, self-blame, grief & loss and self-esteem issues. I get it.

Additionally, I have confidence working with teens and adults in the realms of anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, grief, bullying, pregnancy, relational and self-esteem issues.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling (Emphasis in Clinical Mental Health) from California State University, Fullerton. I am also a member of CAMFT, Resolve (The National Infertility Association) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (Mental Health Professional Group).
