The Fertility Chair: National Infertility Awareness Week --April 24-30, 2022

It’s National Infertility Awareness week and Family Tree Wellness would like to take a moment to acknowledge our fertility community!

Are you currently living with fertility challenges?

An infertility diagnosis can often evoke a myriad of emotions that may include anxiety, depression, grief, anger and/or hope. It is also common to experience feelings of isolation or disconnection from friends, family, your community or even the world at large.

Here at Family Tree Wellness, we want you to know that all of your feelings are welcome and you don’t have to experience your fertility challenges alone. We offer both individual and couples therapy, as well as FREE weekly support groups:

General Fertility Support Group

Secondary Fertility Support Group

Pregnancy After Infertility Support Group

Do you currently have a friend or family member experiencing fertility challenges?

Supporting your loved one can be difficult when you’re uncertain of what to say or do. Let us give you a few tips:

Do:

  • Lend an ear

  • Let them know you care

  • Acknowledge and welcome their feelings

  • Honor their possible need for space and privacy

  • Ask them how they would prefer to receive pregnancy announcements

Don’t:

  • Ask “what’s taking so long?”

  • Give unsolicited baby-making advice

  • Mention the passage of time

  • Expect detailed accounts of their family-building process
