NEUROFEEDBACK

Family Tree Wellness is now offering BrainPaint® neurofeedback! People with deeply rooted trauma or certain biological factors can be held back from ultimate healing and from their full potential. Neurofeedback complements therapy by accessing and calming parts of the brain that aren't reached by talk therapy. From an IFS (Internal Family Systems) perspective, neurofeedback supports people in unblending from their parts. Clients enjoy a new foundation of increased calm and organization to bring to their healing journey.

WHAT IS NEUROFEEEDBACK?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG (electroencephalogram) biofeedback, is brainwave training that teaches the brain to work at its fullest capacity. Our nervous systems can heal and reshape, and neurofeedback can help in a relatively short time.

Neurofeedback is a computer based method for teaching the brain to function in a more balanced and healthful way. It does so by shifting the way the brain produces and distributes its electrical energy. The goal is to improve the brain’s ability to self-regulate, maintain flexibility, and smoothly shift between different states. At Family Tree Wellness, we use BrainPaint® neurofeedback to assess your brainwave activity and then use sound and visual signals to reorganize or retrain these brain signals. Neurofeedback decreases unwanted symptoms and increases calm, clarity, presence and confidence.

HOW DOES NEUROFEEDBACK AT
FAMILY TREE WELLNESS BEGIN?

STEP 1:

Come in for an assessment session (75 minutes) with Estelle Drahon-Servel, AMFT* (supervised by Dani Salzer, LMFT#102811), who will develop an individualized protocol tailored for you.

*Please note that Estelle Drahon-Servel is the only service provider who offers Neurofeedback sessions at this time.

STEP 2:

In your ongoing sessions, sensors will be placed on your ears and scalp. (Nothing goes into your brain - sensors only pick up info coming from your brain.) It’s best to come two or more times per week, though once per week is also effective. We will help you set up a schedule and a plan to maximize the benefits of neurofeedback.

STEP 3:

You will either receive feedback with your eyes closed or your eyes open. With “eyes open” neurofeedback, you will watch morphing fractal images created from your brain activity. BrainPaint will let you know when you are in a state of relaxed attentiveness, so that your brain can more easily return to this state.
