About Deborah

With all the uncertainty and complexity of life, it’s no wonder so many of us feel overwhelmed. You may wonder if another way of life is even possible?! I’m here to tell you it is.

I believe that change is born from direct experience -- we have to experience something new in order to change our underlying beliefs and expectations. This is what makes coming to therapy different from reading a self-help book or talking to a friend. Even though we can have new insights from friends or books, it is only the beginning of the road. A good therapist will help you access new insights and understandings -- new parts of yourself -- that can bring you closer to the life you want to live.

I am the mother of two young children and have firsthand experience with the challenges and joys of parenthood. I am passionate about helping other parents navigate this special period of their lives. I also support people who are undergoing other major life transitions, including career exploration and unexpected family changes.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. I come from a technology background in Engineering and Finance, and worked in Silicon Valley for nearly a decade.  I am familiar with the fast-paced nature of the corporate world, and the distinct pressures it brings to parenthood and life in general.  As a first generation Asian American, racial identity is always part of my work.

Areas of focus:

  • Perinatal Mental Health (All Genders)

  • Career Changes and Burnout

  • Children and Adolescents

  • Multigenerational Family Systems

  • Romantic Relationships

  • AAPI Identity

  • LGBTQ+ Families

I am available for telehealth/online counseling only.

t is an honor to be part of your journey.
